can a creditor reposess your vehicle for a non payment of $50.00

There aren't really enough facts here but generally speaking, if you don't pay the amount due on the car (assuming the creditor is the holder of the loan for the vehicle, or has a lien on the vehicle), yes. Typically the creditor will not choose to repossess in these situations due to the small amount of money owed (it costs them time and money to repossess). The typically won't repossess without many attempts to collect from you.
