Legal Question in Business Law in California
How can I find out regulations for an on-line business buying jewelry?
I want to set up an on-line business to buy jewelry items for resale. The coverage will be nationwide or even international. The principal place of business,
however, would be here in California.
What do I need to know (and how can I find an appropriate lawyer on this subject if you want to talk about it further) about:
1. Are there existing regulationsfor such an online business based here in California?
2. Do other States also have such laws covering the kind of business I am intending to put up?

Re: How can I find out regulations for an on-line business buying jewelry?
What you've described is not that unusual, requiring business licenses, resale permits, customs/import/export licenses, insurance coverages, disclosure documents, buy/sell contracts, etc. You should absolutely form a corporation to protect your personal assets from business risks. Contact me if interested in discussing costs of doing it right.
