Legal Question in Business Law in California
I am a franchisee of a California Corporation in suspended status since 10/2008. Since they are not technically supposed to be operating in business, if I stop paying them royalty payments, can they in the future go after past royalties if they revive thier status. Also, they formally finalized the trademark registration last month while suspended with the Federal Governement. Is that trademark registration valid since it was executed while suspended?

Your best course of action is to show all documentation to a franchise attorney. Their suspended status is only one of many issues to consider. Don't act imprudently and without seeking legal advice.

Act unwisely at your peril. A breach of agreement by you could cost you dearly. Consult local CO counsel for review and assistance, not CA where you posted.
