Legal Question in Business Law in California
Fraud
I have been asked by a ''client'' to submit a invoice of 50K to a lender for services I have not performed. Then cancel the service agreement and forward all the funds to the ''client''. Isn't this fraud?

Re: Fraud
I take it you are a contractor and the loan is a construction loan, or something of this sort.
Absolutely, this is fraud.
Not only that, unless this lender is really asleep at the wheel, it is easily discoverable. On a 50K draw, the lender is likely either to require more documentation, which you won't be able to provide, or is going to make an inspection.
Don't get involved.
