Legal Question in Business Law in California

I am interested on hosting an event at a hotel where I will serve alcohol in the state of California. I've reviewed the requirements on the government website and I believe I need an Event and Seller Permit to serve and sell alcoholic beverages. Is this accurate? If anyone has dealt with this is it the correct permit I should be trying to obtain?

Any attorney will tell you to contact California's bureau of alcohol control. They will advise you on the proper permit and permit requirements. If the hotel has an alcohol permit, you may be able to use theirs. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.

The hotel will need its own permit.
