leasing truck and trailer

I am in prosess if leasing my truck and trailer to another party, I have never done this kind of transaction, and I want to make sure I am protected.

What is the legal prosess of doing this, how can I make sure I am fully covered?

Rather than trying to 'reinvent the wheel' by drafting something from scratch, you should try to obtain a copy of the lease that you would have to sign if leasing from a big company. There are numerous details that need to be in it. No matter what you do, there is going to be risk, so minimize it by doing a thorough credit and background check on them, and obtain a solid security interest in their entire assets including real property.
