Legal Question in Business Law in California

missed rent payment for my business

I own a photo shop store and I missed making the payment for June. The month is not over yet, but I received a letter stating that legal action has been submitted due to not paying the rent as of today. June is still not over and yes I'm late on the payment but can this be done? Do I need to request for a legal representative to represent me? I called the property management team to resolve this by making the payment but they said this issue is already out of their hands. what can I do?

The lease agreement is most likely controlling, but regardless, this sounds extremly unreasonable. You really should contact legal representation in your area, who will need to review the lease and provide you with a more extensive response. However, even if the lease agreement does not provide you a solution... you will probably be able to make an argument for mitigation. Late on one month of lease payments is not usually grounds to kick out a tenant.
