Legal Question in Business Law in California
I am the "owner" of a now suspended corporation. Recently, I found out that the state is holding uncashed checks as "unclaimed property".
Can I still collect this property? Or do I have to resurrect the Corp?
Thank you..
Ron

Theoretically, you could probably cash the checks if you could get them, as long as the corporation's bank account was still active. But, you're going to have to work through the issues by requesting the checks and then responding to any issues that are raised by any of the agencies and officials in the process. Then you'll have to address the issue of what you are allowed or required to do with the money once/if you get it into the co account.
