Legal Question in Business Law in California
We paid $1700 for a rebuilt transmission. It wouldn't work and we towed the car to the place where we bought the transmission. They have had it for 3 months. I cannot get my phone calls returned. What can I do?
Thanks

A suit for the tort of "conversion" seems appropriate at this time. Whether you go to Small Claims or Superior Court depends upon the value of the car. Obtain and read the Nolo Press guide to California Small Claims procedures.

Sue in small claims for the value of the car if under $7500, and report them to Calif Automotive Repair Bureau immediately.
