Partnership to LLC

I'm trying to start a business and my partner and I have decided to that we should have the protection of an LLC. We already have a business license; California resellers permit, and also have a fictitious business name on file with the county. What are the steps involved in changing to an LLC. What do we need to do with our current status. Thank You

You form and file your LLC, and transfer the assets to it with properly documented actions by the partnersip and LLC. There is no magic, just the need for knowledge of proper documentation and proceedures designed to ensure the participants of the legal protections offered by corporate status.
