She wont pay
I totally designed and landscaped Susan's backyard.She liked what i designed. She added a few things also. To make it short(at least 150 miles of travel,gas and time expence))I cleared it of all bushs shrubs,rock and debri,had-5 trees removed /stumps(dozens of trips to dump)dug out 2 90ft x18 in trenches for drainage- 2 electrical and gas lines sprinkler system,-100ft by 4 ft retaining block wall-/2-3 ft by 5 ft retaining block walls,another 80ft x 3ft retaining block wall all which were capped off with matching flagstone /a flagstone deck patio area(100ft by 8 ft)cut out and constructed a barbue area and retaining wall around it. large fountain with pump area-4 planter areas(which were sowed raked and cleared of rocks and weeds)planted 50 or more plants and flowers. grated and leveled the whole backyard. planted sod in 2 areas-constructed a garden 60 ft by 7 ft with 4 trenchs-a terrence area with 3 teir steps and patio.and even more--she paid me along the way but never the full amount i billed her.i was just finishing the details to end the job and gave her the last bill which was for my labor for the past 2 months and remaining balance from prvious bills. The bill was for $4,300 dollars-she refuses to pay me now-says shes paid

If you are a licensed contractor, take her to small claims court. If you aren't, you are out luck because this type of work requires a license and you cannot collect.

Sue in small claims. If a licensed contractor, no problems. If you were simply a handiman, explain that and try to get a judgment, the court will decide. You have nothing to lose by trying.
