payments

We own a small business. A client sent a money order that was cashed. On the mo it stated that when cashed account was paid in full and closed. There is a $300 balance left

I assumed that you want to know whether you can go after the remaining $300.

The question is whether the $3,000 represents an "Accord and Satisfaction" of the debt. The basic answer is that in order for the partial payment to extinguish the debt there needs to be a bona fide (real) dispute as to the amount due.
