postpose court date
I have a judgement against me, I don't think I will make that date due to illness, what do I do?

Re: postpose court date
Most court appearances can be handled by attorneys. A judgment debtor examination, if that's what you meant, requires your personal appearance, but you should be able to reschedule this -- get confirmation in writing please -- with the other side.
Re: postpose court date
If you have a court appearance date, contact the other side and the court to request a continuance. If that doesn't happen, hire an attorney to make a special appearance, or to take over the case. If this is a 'judgment debtor examination' appearance, it is more likely continuance will be granted if you ask in advance.
Re: postpose court date
You don't say what is supposed to happen on the date in question, but be aware that if it is a judgment debtor examination, your failure to arrange a new date or appear in person could result in a bench warrant for your arrest.
