Legal Question in Business Law in California

Property Abandonment

What recourse is open to the owner

of a horse ranch incurring debt from

a client who will not pay the training/

board bill? May the ranch owner

legally sell the horse to settle the

account? The client has paid no

money in six (6) months, will be out

of the country for at least a year,

and refuses to accept any offers of

sale.
