Salary employee working overtime
If a salary employee works overtime is he/she able to collect overtime wages

No, if properly classed as salary. Many are improperly called salaried. If you are supervising, managing, professional, etc, you get to work as many hours as required for your salary. If not, you are probably misclassed. File a claim with the Labor Commissioner, and contact me if serious about getting legal help with the hearings and trial if they take your claim; meaning they agree you are improperly classed.
