Legal Question in Business Law in California

I was doing a shoe trade with some guy, I have his name phone number and address. I sent him the shoes and he never sent me the pairs he was supposed to send me, the shoes are worth $400, how can I go about getting my money back, or making some sort of small claims case? ( I live in California, he loves in Pennsylvania)

By filing in your local court and trying to get him served validly. You're going to need some luck and effort.

Generally, California courts have no personal jurisdiction over someone in Pennsylvania, so you may have to go to court in Pennsylvania (which could be done through a lawyer there) if you want to sue him.

Before you do that, you should call this person to find out why you haven't received anything. Regardless of what he says (or if you can't reach him), follow that up with a written demand for the items you were supposed to get. If you did the trade through a third party, get them involved.
