Legal Question in Business Law in California
I have a small company with fewer than 10 employees (in California). One of my employees wants to skip his 30 minute lunch break and leave early daily. Can he opt out of the lunchtime? What should I have in writing to protect myself?

Even with a written opt out document, he could change his mind and bring a claim with the Labor Commissioner for the time. If the document was well enough drafted, it might win, but that is not guaranteed. The Labor Code demands breaks, and punishes violations.
