Legal Question in Business Law in California
unethical work environment
My husband partnered with a large bank to build a new retail/mortgage region. I noticed a lot of innappropriate behavior going on during the partnership...drinking,business trips, ''bonding trips'' that he was required to go on. Now my husband has come clean and told me everything that was going on in this boys club among the top ceos. Drugs, drinking and prostitutes being provided. I had asked why the top guys seemed to control every move and now I know why. When these guys heard that I was told of their ''circle of trust'', as they called it, I was called and threatened to keep my mouth shut or else. I was 7 months pregnant and terrified. They blackmailed my husband into giving up his business. The would call me and taunt me with info that my husband obviously didnt want me to know. He gave everything up but ended up telling me everything. He even took a polygraph confirming his stories. My family has lost everything. My husband old employees have since come foward expressing their disgust with what was done to my husband and I. We have had up to ten past and present employees call and tell us that it only getting worse. These guys are sexually harrassing the women in their own offices. What can I do?

Consult an attorney to find out your best options. They'll need to know much more and can then tell you what crimes you can report and what civil claims you may have.
Re: unethical work environment
If it has been less than a year since he was forced out, he has a claim to make, and quick. He was the victim of sexually hostile environment and retaliation for objecting and disclosing. The witnesses are his key to success. Have him contact me if seriously interested in pursuing this. Employment and discrimination law has been one of my specialities for over 20 years.
Re: unethical work environment
Depending upon how long ago these things happened, your husband may have very strong claims of wrongful termination, interference with prospective economic advantage, breach of contract, etc. You and he may each have claims for intentional infliction of emotional distress. The two of you need to consult with a lawyer right away.
