banned clothes

can a high school ban articles of clothing they feel are racially related based upon the opinions of one child? these articles of clothing do not depict any form of racial slurs, slogans, etc.

Welcome to the "Progressive"/Liberal utopia where big government, and big government schools, do as they damn well please these days. Your recourse would be a suit on 1st Amendment grounds, if the 'speech' on the shirt is worth protecting.
