Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

a boat mechanic says he will deliver our 13 foot boston whaler that he has done work on, but never shows up. we have paid him already. he said since i called the store that referred him and complained, that i ruined his career, the store also said 2 years ago, their were several complaints about him. he actually told my husband that was the reason he is going to keep/ delay giving our boat back. how do i get it back. this guy is a complete lunatic, do i have a case against store that referred

me? I really just want the boat back, its been 2 months since he has had. he also worked on it for 2 months in water prior to him taking out of the water to work on. thanks for any advise you may have.

Go to your local police department and file a complaint. Ask them to accompany you to the shop so that there is no incident when you retrieve your boat. Or, you can hire a lawyer and sue him.
