If there is a company handbook, you should follow the procedures outlined in it regarding such claims. If it's a smaller company, report it to the human resources department. If none, report it to a company officer, and follow up with a written summary to that some person of what was discussed. Keep a copy. You might also want to keep a diary at home of all of the events -- dates, times, what was said, who was present, etc., for possible later use.

If you receive no satisfaction within a reasonable time, you can file a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Harassment in the workplace should not be tolerated.

Generally, formally complain to HR or mgmt to put the company on notice. Demand remedy. Discretely seek out witnesses to confirm your story. Hire an attorney if serious about pursuing claims and lawsuit, if that is appropriate. You have only one year to take action, don't allow it to continue. If retaliated against, that is a separate cause of action. Feel free to contact me if serious about taking action.
