Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Civil court

I was geting sued for $38k because i accidently hit a pedestrian with my vehicle when it was raining. I didnt have any insurance and they filed a lawsuit and i got a seponia. I didnt show or respond to court and i check today (1year after i got the seponia) and it said the case has been dissmissed. What does that mean? thanks

Usually a dismissal means that the case is over. Did you inform your insurance company of the lawsuit? Perhaps it settled with the pedestrian. In that case, nothing further could happen.
