Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

I was convicted of felony domestic violence when i was 14 and had it reduced to a misdemeanor for completing probation. When i turned 18 i had the record sealed by the california court. I would like to join the military, and because of the domestic violence charge i understand i fall under the lautenberg amendment. i saw it written in an excerpt that i can't find right now that if i were to expunge my misdemeanor, it would technically exempt me from lautenberg and i would be eligible to possess firearms again, so i could join. can someone tell me how i would go about getting my sealed misdemeanor expunged, and can someone also explain to me the exact way an expunged misdemeanor applies to the lautenberg amendment?

Your juvenile record is 'sealed' you said. It can't be expunged, or anything else, as it is no longer accessible, it no longer 'exists'. Join the military, thank you for your service.
