Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Disclosing a former employer on my online resume

I was contacted by a former employer who has threatened me with legal action if I do not comply. I signed an NDA form when hired. I'm a web developer and have an online portfolio/resume website. On my website I list my former employer company as someone who I've worked for. I'm not disclosing what it was that I did or created for that company or anything. if anything I'm giving them free publicity and advertisement space. I've been in contact with a friend of mine at unionyes.org who is a lawyer but cannot represent me in this matter. He has read my NDA form as well as has reviewed my website and has told me several times that I am not in violation of the NDA form that I signed. He's read the NDA form and so have I. I'm not a judge and the lawyer for my former employer is wrong. Am I not allowed to include my former employer in my resume if I've signed an NDA form? An NDA form is to prevent people from ripping off people and I'm not doing that at all. nothing on my website is ''confidential'' as the lawyer for JCI is accusing it of having. My website address is: GetSomeMojo dot net - The former employer who is threatening to sue me is the 3-hour Diet and Jorge Cruise, Inc.

Have a lawyer write them a letter on lawyer letterhead telling them to Go Pound Sand. My standard fee for writing Go Pound Sand letters is $100, PayPal accepted.

You got good sound opinion, accept it. They are trying to scare you. If you need someone to 'educate' the company with a response letter, or defend you if they actually sue [which is highly unlikely] feel free to contact me.
