Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
employment
can my employer force me to take an unpaid vacation. i am full time hourly in calif. also I was promised a certain wage when i was hired and never got it. I am making substantially less than promised. I do not have a written contract, but I do have one that is verbal on tape. they refuse to give me pay promised, and are too busy to discuss it.I left my old job and took this job based solely on the promise they made. Also I was hired as a full time employee and am being sent home very early every day.

Re: employment
You can file a claim with the Labor Commissioner, and/or could file a civil suit for 'breach of agreement' and failure to pay as agreed. In either case, if the amount in question is substantial enough to justify having counsel help you, feel free to contact me.
