Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Falsely accused of stealing

My wife worked at a car dealership as finance manager. She took payment for a car in cash. After the deal was done she placed the cash in the safe.

Then the next day the money was missing. Many of the current and former employees know combination and there are no cameras to know who did it. She was suspended for 3 days. After feeling like they were going to blame her she quit her job. A couple of days later the police called for her to come in for an interview. The police officer repeatedly said just admit you did it and nothing will happen''. Of course she didn't do it. We have hired a lawyer just in case anything else happens. This accusation has hurt my wifes career and put our family through a lot stress. After this all blows over do we have any recourse?

Re: Falsely accused of stealing

'Blows over'?? IF she could prove she was intentionally falsely accused despite them actually knowing she was completely innocent, knowing someone else did it, then maybe she would have a claim. How likely is it that the facts will rise to that level of proof - NOT.
