Filing a tort claim

I was assaulted while working for the Central Calif Womens Facility by a correctional officer. I am a nurse working for the prison through a nursing registryh, what are my rights?

to a WCAB case unless the attacker is rich enough to justify filing a lawsuit that you can actually collect on.

You should first document your assault and your injuries. Make a police report. See a doctor if even slightly injured.

You would then file a claim with the CA Board of Control to be compensated for your injuries and emotional distress. You have six months from the date of the assault to file this claim.
