Free dog in the newspaper

I got a mbloodhound from a ''Free'' classified ad. 5 days later they saw me on the street and took her away. Said they made a mistake.!!! She didn't want to go with them, seemed like that to me. I want her back. I know where they live. Can I just go get her off the chain she lives on? In their yard?
