Re: gun ownership
Expungement does NOT restore your gun rights lost by felony conviction. To do so, you'd have to return to the convicting court, file motions to restore your rights, and if successful, then try to get DOJ to recognize that and change your file to remove 'prohibited person' status. If you're serious about doing so, feel free to contact me about the costs and issues.
Re: gun ownership
You wouldn't technically be a felon if you've had both of them expunged from your record, so you should be alright. The best, and probably easiest, way to find out would be to go to a fun store and ask them if you can buy one according to the background checks they gotta do. Make sure you have the right before you own, or even possess, a gun though, as that in itself can be a separate felony.
