Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

High Speed Chase

In custody on his way to jail local police took my son on a high speed chase with them. Is this legal in California? My son & another suspect were on their way to the local jail in cuffs when the driver of the police car answered a call that led them into a 30min intense high speed chase. During the pursuit the officer ran over spike strips that had been layed out to slow down suspect. My son was forced to sit quietly hand cuffed in the back of police car w/ no seat belt during the entire chase and throughout the process of changing the flattened tires. How can this be legal? Law enforcement are the ones who stress how dangerous these chases can be and how the outcome is often fatal for some. But it's ok for them to arrest my 18yr old son with a .06 BAC because he could be in danger or cause harm to someone else if driving in this condition? He passed all common field sobriety tests except BAC and against the recommendation of three on site officers at a check point was arrested anyway. Wouldn't he have been much safer just driving himmself two more miles to home? He had 1 and half beers at a party to see his friend off to Iraq. My son is much taller than me and out weighs me by about 20 lbs & I can handle quite a few more than 2.

Re: High Speed Chase

Was he injured in a crash? No? Then he has no valid Claim For Damages to bring.
