Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

limited civil case

Hi,

I have an old judgment from 2002 filed by a collection attorney for Captial One. Some of the money was paid to the attorney's office via wage gurnishments, but some balance still remains.

The status of limitation of the credit card debt expires in August of this year (2008) and I was wondering if the judgment becomes void, at that time, or does the judgement continue to be valid.

The total amount to settle is about $2500.

Thanks,

Ross

Re: limited civil case

Judgments are forever. Or at least are renewable every ten years in CA. Either pay it, negotiate a compromise, or suffer the consequences of a judgment on your record.
