Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Mail delivery
we have a large dog with a large bark, our dog barks at the mail carrier. Our dog has never bitten anyone and or attacked anyone, The mail carrier is intimidated by our dog and they are refusing to deliver our mail. Our dog is either in our house or in our back yard and does not run free. Can they refuse to deliver our mail?

Re: Mail delivery
I would suggest talking with the letter carrier outside the home, and perhaps to postal officials.
Re: Mail delivery
In my experience, if it very difficult to challenge this type of administrative postal decision.
That being said, I agree with Attorney Cohen, attempt to negotiate a compromise with the mail delivery employee and postal officials; keep in mind this postal employee may have had a bad experience with dogs in the past which prevents him/her from trusting your dog.
Best of luck to you.
Regard,
Bryan
Re: Mail delivery
Yes. Get rid of the dog, or keep it in the house, then talk to USPS about the changed situation. Your neighbors would be happy at the change as well.
