Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
providing identification or personal information to a law enforcement official.
Am I legally obligated to provide identification or my name and address to a peace officer if they request it if I have not commited a crime? On numerous occasions I have had this occur at campgrounds for noise complaints as a result of other individuals who were there with me or next to me.
