Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Recently I was harassed by a previous creditor of mine whose debt had been discharged two years ago. He mocked me in front of people by use of excessive force, vulgar and degrading words to discredit and destroy my reputatation. After going thru this ordeal, I experience insomnia, excessive fear, guilty conscience that are weakening me physically. The aggressor is half my age and even threatened to kill my son if he saw him. I do not know what to do ? Please advise. I am in Los Angeles.

You and your son can apply for a civil harassment restraining order -- especially if he used excessive force and threatened to kill your son. You can also sue for defamation and/or invasion of privacy, but that would tie you up in court for a year or two, and you'll have many more encounters with this person as a result.
