Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

My stepmom wants to file a restraining order on my dad and I to essentially kick us out of the house. My dad is the one and only homeowner so my question is would we have to move out even though my dad owns the house? There have been no threats made to her by me or my dad. And we have never physically abused her.

You each had better timely and properly file effective opposition pleadings and attend the hearing to argue your case.

You are always entitled to represent yourself in court. Whether you should is a different issue. The conventional wisdom is that an attorney will be able to do a better job and get a better outcome. judges dont like dealing with ProPers, unless you are simply pleading no contest, not defending the case.

If you don't know how to represent yourself effectively, then hire an attorney who does, who will defend you, try to get a dismissal, or other decent outcome.

If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, feel free to contact me. Ill be happy to help fight and get the best outcome possible, using whatever defenses and sympathies there may be. Ive been doing such cases for many years.
