can i be sued if i sold a used car without now contract and now the guy is telling me the car has problems?

"Can" you be sued? Of course, anybody can sue anybody for anything. Can he win? That depends on all the facts, contracts, etc. Without an 'as is' contract, it is his word vs yours about the 'deal'.

It all depends on what you knew, what you told him, and more specifically what you didn't tell him that you knew about. If you told him untruths or failed to disclose some material defects he might have a good case. If you made any promises that weren't true then he has a good case.

So it all depends on the facts as Terry points out.
