Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

who can be sued for wrongful death?

I've read a lot on who can sue for wrongful death, but can't find anything on who can be sued. If the person who caused the death has no money, can their family members or others be sued?

Don't be quick to assume somebody has no money, maybe they have insurance or assets that can be discovered through an appropriate investigation.

But if they don't, there's no point in suing them.

Of course not. Only those liable can be sued. If they have no money, too bad. Just investigate to confirm the reality of Would you think it was right to be sued if your cousin harmed someone without any connection to you, just because you have money and he doesn't? Parents can be sued for conduct of children, but that's because they are legal responsible for them.
