Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
My wife is attending Cal Baptist University in Riverside, Ca. She is in the Nursing Masters program. About a month ago she questioned one of the instructors as to her teaching style and the fact that for the money she's paying for the program, she should be taught by soimeone who is prepared for the course. Soon after this my wife was called to a meeting with this instructor and the instructor that is in charge of mental health. The told my wife that she was not being a leader and question whether she is a Cristian or not. They also had her do a report on civility in nursing. Now today she has a meeting and they will determine whether she can continue with the program. I guess my question is are there laws for schools the govern hostile or religious conditions pertaining to faculty/student relations?

There are no laws requiring 'fairness' in life. If she can somehow prove she is damaged economically by treatment provable as 'discrimination' under the Civil Rights laws, such as religious discrimination, she might have a claim. What it sounds like is a personality and office politics problem,. At best, she may have a breach of contract claim if they kick her out of the program, if she can prove they violated their own rule or policy in doing so.
