land lord \teant. reponsbilty.

we(my husband and i) have asked our land lord over and over again for bettter parking area because our car has either been hit or vandalize , and each time she refused,and now our car has been stolen.what hurt the most our car was our bread and butter and my husband might loose his job. can we hold the land lord reponsebile,and witjhold rent?.

Probably not. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but your landlord likely had no legal duty to protect your car.

Landlords are not insurers of their tenants' property and are generally not responsible for damage intentionally caused by third parties. You could have purchased insurance to protect you against this sort of loss, and your landlord is not required to give you for free what you chose not to buy.

Landlords can be held liable for such losses under some circumstances. There is no way I can say whether any of those circumstances are present in your case.
