Legal Question in Construction Law in California

The company I owned that was incorporated for 30 years has filed for bankruptcy and I'm being sued personally for $94,000 beyond that of the corporate bond. The corporate veil was never breached. Other suits are beginning to come in that appear bogus and appear to require representation. Is there a way to stop these shakedowns?

This is really sad. I was a self-employed businessman for decades before going to night law school, and a Ch. 11 was part of my mid-life experience.

The suits may be valid - were there personal guarantees? -- but based on what you've said, you're probably right that it's more of a shakedown.

How many other stockholders were there? Did you regularly hold meetings and elect a board?

Pleas feel free to contact me directly with particulars for a free evaluation and, perhaps, a representation proposal.
