Legal Question in Construction Law in California

multipul notice of completions

We have one contract and the buildings are being sold and notice of completions are being filed on each building. Do we need to file a lien right away or can we wait tilll the owner files the last notice of completion?

Re: multipul notice of completions

You should file your lien asap for the entire project and also for each specific building you worked on. I need more information to provide you with anything better than that but generally a NOC is valid to release a specific house or building so that your time to file a lien for that building may expire if you fail to file now.

Please review my profile and feel free to contact me for representation. I was a contractor for 15 years before I became an attorney practice primarily in construction law.

Thank you for the question.

You snooze, you lose. If you have rights to lien, you lose them if you delay.
