Operating without a contractor's license

I was just cited for bidding on a job over $500 in California. What should I do?

Re: Operating without a contractor's license

Were you cited by the CSLB or were you actually given a ticket by a police officer? In CA, contracting without a license is a misdemeanor. Additionally, there are related charges that cab be brought against you as felonies if the particular circumstances support it.

There are a few defenses available to the misdemeanor charge. The most common is that you were bidding on work that did not require a license.

I can review your citation for a free consult if you are serious about legal help.

Good Luck.

Re: Operating without a contractor's license

Get a contractor's license or stop bidding on jobs that require one. Hire an attorney to defend the charges.
