Legal Question in Construction Law in California
Owning my own corporation
Hello my husband and I wanted to start our own corporation, but I wanted to know what kind of documentation do I need to start our corporation. Also how much will it cost us? He is a construction worker are there certain documents we need for that as well?

what you need to know is that forming a corporation must be done correctly to avoid expensive legal and liability problems later. What you need to do is hire someone that knows how to do this for you. The documentation you refer to is created as part of forming the corporation. You have to prepare Articles, By-laws, minutes, agreements, notices to regulatory agencies, issue stock, etc. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing it right. The fees are reasonable, and the costs are the same whether you use counsel or not.
Re: Owning my own corporation
Why do you want a corporation? What state do you want to incorporate in? What do you intend to do with the corporation? Do you want a "C" or a "S" corporation? These are just a few of the many questions that need to be answered before you are ready to file papers. You should see an attorney and an accountant and followt their advice. If your husband is merely a construction "worker", you do not need any special documents. On the other hand, If he is or wants to be a contractor, a license is required and is an entirely different subject.
Good Luck
