Legal Question in Construction Law in California

statutes

I am the plaintiff in a pro per civil lawsuit. I am lookin for information to file the brief for the judge. I would like to know the statutes that apply to a licensed contractor aiding and abedding an unlicensed contractor. Also when I subpoena witnesses do I use form subp-002? Can witnesses be subpoenaed by the mail or by my relatives?

Re: statutes

Why pro per? You are likely to have more difficulties than a trial brief. Contact me directly.

Re: statutes

I suggest you hire an attorney to represent you in the trial if possible.

As far as trying to help you with some of your questions.

For licensed contractors helping unlicensed contractors I suggest you check:

1. Business & Professions Code 7027 through 7028 et. seq. (all of that area);

2. California Code of Civil procedures (CCP) 1029.8 and around that area.

3. Labor Code 1021.5

4. B & P 7114 (Aiding and abetting)

As far as service of process to subpoena persons I am not sure what you are asking. I suggest you pay $20 or so and hire a licensed process server to subpoena them for trial.

Thats about all I can give you. Pro per's usually end up owing alot of money in the end or losing the case. You may be frustrated by the evidence that you try to present that does not come into the hearing because you are not familiar with the rules of evidence.

Good luck-you will need it!!!!
