Asked to partake in survey 2 make 30 dollars, now I'm getting bills in mail

About a year ago I was asked to partake in a survey by an aquaintence, I only needed to provide my drivers licence and proof of insurance. Thr survey was for a local Porsche dealer, so I thought nothing of it. I was paid $30.00, and told the survey would come in the mail.

Soon after I recieved a registration for a new Porsche, and a set of CA. lisence plates for ''my'' 2005 Porsche. At the time my mother had just died, so I put it off to the side and forgot about the whole thing. About 10 days ago I got a bill from the DMV for $333.00 to register this car, I don't own. Now I'm wondering what in the heck I can do to keep from being held responsible for this bill, and also if I have the title in my name, which has a VIN # for a brand new Porsche,that I've never seen, then where is my car?

Really what should I do? I'm worried.

Your acquaintance probably has the car. Write to the dealership for a copy of the sales contract. Dispute the debt in writing, certified return receipt. Send a copy to the acquaintance and ask him/her to call immediately. Find out what's going on. Once you get these documents, or if you're stonewalled, you might need legal representation to help you straighten it out.

This is a very strange legal situation to say the least. However, you are NOT liable for an alleged debt that is not legally proven or validated.
