Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Delivery people - Lowe's delivery contractors - scratched the laundry room floor. The owner/manager came to verify the damage and indicated their insurance would pay. I got an estimate and fax it to him. He disappeared for over a month. Finally, after threatening a Small Claims Court suit, he called back saying they won't pay, but send their contractor to fix the floor.
I don't want their contractors in my home again, given how they behaved the first time. Do I HAVE to let them repair, or do I have the right to hire a person I trust?
Are they responsible or Lowe's? I called Lowe's as well, but so far haven't heard back from them either

A judge may not give you all the money you ask for if you did not give the delivery company the opportunity to fix your floors. Let them try to fix it.
