Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I ordered windows to be installed, but the one's that eventually were installed did not meet the promised criteria (energy efficiency). The company is offering (after long silence and delay) to either replace the windows for new ones at full purchase price or to give me a 25% discount. Do I have to take one of their options? Do I have recourse to any other options, such as paying nothing because I didn't get what I ordered and I don't want to work with the company anymore (and thus don't want them to install new windows), or offering to pay 25% (the deposit, which I already paid), but not the remainder, or ... other options?
