Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I am a paying subscriber of an online serivce that provides access to a virutal social environment and forum.

I have had an ongoing issue with what I believe is harassment and I have reported as much when issues occur to the appropriate customer service reps. and forum administrators. Worth mentioning is that other users in my user association have had the same issues with the same system users. This has been ongoing for about a year with many pages of documented offenses.

Despite our reporting of these issues, we have rarely gotten a satisfactory response that actually make an effort to police or prevent furhter harassment. Thusly, we have been making a more vigorous effort to respond to the harassment ourselves. As soon as we do this, we find ourselves recieving very harsh responses from the same service reps. and forum admins that do not seem to respond to our issues. IE, we are being treated very harshly when we attempt to defend ourselves as if the ones perpatrating the harrassment against us are obove the rules of conduct.

Two of my accounts have recently been permanently banned from use of the forums with the explanation that I have made "insulting personal attacks and sexual slurs". While my comments might be insulting, I know for a fact that no "sexual slurs" were made. I have requested an explanation and all I am told is that they have the right to terminate service at any time without notice. So far at least one of the posters I have reported is still allowed access despite similar behavior.

Access to the forum is an integral part of the service that customer service uses to provide support and announcements and where users can get help.

Do I have any legal rights what so ever to force this service provider to re-instate my access to the forums?

You have rights but not a strong case. It is difficult to get them to enforce subjective standards.
