Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Purchased car from dealer with swapped VIN
I bought what was advertised by dealer as a 2000 Dodge. After being involved in an accident, it was determined that the vehicle is really a 1998 Dodge. The VIN does not match the actualy vehicle nor the engine. I'm concerned this vehicle may be stolen and the VIN plate swapped from another vehicle.
The dealer claims he didn't know about it and that he bought it that way from an auction.
The dealer is a proprietary independent corner lot but can I seek recovery through his bond?
Thanks.

Yes, if you did not receive what you were led to believe you were to receive from this dealership at issue, you would have legal standing for fraud and/or breach of contract. For affordable assistance, contact us today for a free phone consultation.
