Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I sold my car 3 days ago (CA) and was not aware that the seller needs to provide the buyer with the recent smog certificate. now the buyer calls me back and ask to provide the smog certificate and also for me to pay for the cost of the repair. the estimate cost of repair amounts to 2/3 of the sale price ($3000). the repair already cost him so far $1000. what should we do? please help. thanks.

You need to try to renegotiate the purchase agreement. Perhaps the buyer will agree to pay part of the repair costs. Your bargaining position is weak but if he wants the car he may be willing to share the expense.
